Kaase family

The Kaase family was comprised of descendants from Norwegian immigrants. Most of the postcards in this collection were sent to Maline Kaase, Stanley's great-aunt. The family didn't use the last name "Kaase" consistently in the early 1900s. Their name was sometimes spelled "Kaasa," "Kassa," or "Kessa." Members of the family also used the last name Olson. In the family tree below, Maline is outlined in gold and other postcard senders and recipients are outlined in green. Maline's family homesteaded and farmed land in Northwood, North Dakota. Her parents, Ole and Sophrone, both children of Norwegian immigrants, married in Harmony, Minnesota in 1879 before claiming 160 acres of land in Northwood in 1882.
