Maline & Family

Plenty of postcards were sent between members of Kaase family.

Maline’s brother Theodore sent her a card when she was in Minnesota, keeping her abreast of all the news. He brags a bit in the postcard as well, saying “There are quite a few parties here about a week [ago] I was to masquerade in Hatton.”

A couple days later, Maline’s postcard to her brother Albert: “Greetings to all.” I hope this was followed by a longer letter, or I’m sure her family would be disappointed to hear so little.

A few family events are not recorded in these postcards.

Maline’s brother Thosten died on December 12, 1907, at the age of 21. An unpostmarked Christmas card from Theodore to Maline that year is subdued: “Xmas 1907”

Maline’s mother, Sophrone, died in 1913. There are no surviving cards from 1913, and postcards are sporadic afterwards.
